With a spectacular 15th floor view of the Potomac River, this penthouse apartment posed a particular challenge: to unify three different apartments and long hallways. Our solution lay in taking advantage of the hallways and creating a different perspective on the apartment they link.
This photo shows the apartment's dramatic entranceway, featuring a beautiful fiber optic sculpture. At the end of the hallway is a circular staircase, made of aluminum, that is at once the center of the apartment and a sculpture in itself.
The project also consisted of a complete overhaul of the existing rooms. We redid the floors using limestone, created walls covered in fabric and designed all-new bedrooms, bathrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen.
