Created to be a hallmark jeans store, Silhouette dismisses unnecessary detail in favor of an unassuming style that is familiar, functional and inviting.
Yet for all its simplicity, the store is anything but plain. European and American influences collide playfully: Galvanized metal lamps inspired by the headlights of old pickup trucks spotlight merchandise piled stockroom-style on rich cherry shelves. The chairs are Shaker; the cashier's counter is suede; the inner "shell" is weathered birch, but the exterior walls are reminiscent of an Italian fresco.
Perhaps most significantly, the space was designed as a prototype that could be easily reproduced for future stores. Total construction time was two weeks.
