For this project, the architects revitalized a quarter-million square foot abandoned high school. The transformed building is now a modern learning facility for a pre-K to 12th grade private school, complete with integrated networking and communication systems. The building is better, safer, far more efficient to heat and cool, and all this was done under a strictly controlled budget.
The architects' participation in a creative and productive team was critical in helping to find this balance of short vs. long term costs and benefits, and to help keep the project on schedule. Their thoughtful approach to design does not rely on expensive construction to bring architectural interest to their buildings. Instead, Shinberg.Levinas uses low cost materials and sophisticated color selection to create an atmosphere conducive to learning and the spiritual needs of these students.
