The W.J. Rolark building, located at 4300-4304 12th Street SE,  is part of the Permanent Supportive Housing Program (PSHP). It consists of 26 apartment style, site based permanent supportive housing units for families (18 two bedroom, 8 three bedroom units) within approximately 28,500 GSF of contiguous space. The new DC Department of General Services Permanent Supportive Housing Facility is a unique and important project that will positively affect the immediate neighborhood, community and the District of Columbia.

PSHP provides permanent housing and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness to ensure housing stabilization, maximum levels of self-sufficiency and an overall better quality of life. The first phase of this program is to assess individuals and families experiencing homelessness who are living on the streets, in shelters and other institutions. The second phase is to place individuals and families into long-term housing. The third phase is to provide effective case management to ensure that individuals and families are connected to needed support services and achieve the highest degree of stabilization and self-sufficiency possible.
