PROJECT INFORMATION +
Yeshiva of Greater Washington, Silver Spring, Maryland
2001

This school, chapel and administration complex is unique; it consists of dormitories, dining facilities and gymnasium. A complete campus for students needed to be developed that retained the sacred nature of the school. The Yeshiva is on a site already occupied by a smaller school building. The entire complex is being constructed in a staged development along a common spine of circulation.

Currently, construction of the administration, multi-purpose and chapel portions have been completed. Ground breaking for the dormitories and gymnasium will be completed later. Site planning has involved the full range of county reviews, from storm water management and fire fighting access, to tree conservation. The building is designed to allow use of prefabricated elements for speed, economy, and durability of materials for long-term low maintenance.
